Responsible Jungle Trekking

Jungle trekking in Bukit Lawang is one of the main gateways to the amazing Gunung Leuser National Park, home to the Sumatran Orangutan. Providing responsible trekking so visitors can enjoy but by preserving the environment

Eco - Treks

Treking near Landak River, located just 4km from Bukit Lawang. The hidden forests sit beside the river and overlook the Leuser National Park. Scarce of tourists, peaceful and diverse. Eco-Trekking here is a real experience. A great place to explore.

Off the Beaten Treks

There are several villages bordering the Leuser National Park that should also be explored, each offering something different. Elephants & waterfalls at Tangkahan or the famous Rafflesia  flower and Gibbons at Batu Katak or amazing waterfalls near Pamah Semilir

Why Choose Us?

Here are some of Sumatra EcoVentures Eco-friendly practices, so that we and our guests cause the minimal impact to the environment.

Lets start your responsible travel and amazing jungle experience to remember !

We had an amazing 4 day Trek with Sumatra EcoVentures. We explored the Gunung Leuser National Park, Batu Kapal and Batu Katak. It was one of those lifetime trips that'll be in our hearts forever. We were super lucky and saw some of the rehabilitated Orangutans, Thomas Leaf Monkeys and my favourite was a family of Wild Orangutans that are in a secret spot only our guides knew about. I can't speak highly enough of Heri and Uncle Ian. They gave us the best time.

Then there were the caves and rock formations, they'll blow your mind. We chose Sumatra EcoVentures as they truly respect the forest and the animals. There's no feeding of animals or stressing them out. Purely there to observe and get awestruck.

Travel and Give Something Back

Sumatra EcoVentures understands that wherever we go, we leave something behind - our economic impact, our environmental footprint or our social ideas.  So rather than just travel, give something back and be a part of the change

Be part of positive changes

Sumatra EcoVentures are proud supporters of two educational programs in Bukit Lawang and actively involved with one Eco-farm. Come and help teach English to local children or if getting your hands dirty is more your thing, help with planting, harvesting rice, fruit and vegetables.
