Joining a Trek

How large are the groups for trekking?

As part of our eco sustainable program, we only have a maxium of 6 people in a group. This keeps the numbers down entering the jungle. For our eco treks we only take a maxium of 3 people to reduce the impact on the delicate ecosystems.

Will i see Orangutans during my trekking?

The chances of seeing Orangutans in the jungle in Bukit Lawang are high as the majority of these Orangutans are ex-captive and are used to humans. However, they do live freely so it can't be 100% guarenteed. The chances of seeing Orangutans during an eco trek is slightly less as these are completely wild, stay up high in the trees, and can be difficult to spot. To increase your chance of seeing them, spend longer in the jungle and follow the Jungle Guidelines

Can I bring my children trekking?

Yes! This will depend on the age and fitness of the children. Trekking is safe for children as long as they listen to the guides and follow the jungle guidelines. We offer 1/2 day treks and 1 day jungle treks which are suitable for families.
